Roman has a panic attack and comes round in a place that does not follow the rules of the one he left. Getting home is the entire problem.

Fight or find a way round

You can arm yourself and take on what is in front of you, or work out the path of least resistance. Both are viable and the game does not push you either way.

Cameras that know what you cannot see

Fixed angles do the work they did in the games this is descended from: framing what you are allowed to know and hiding the rest, with modern rendering making it worse rather than safer.

A mystery in pieces

The settings look unrelated until they are not. Reading environments carefully turns up hints and tools in places that make no sense until they do, and every time you think you have it the hellscape changes what it was asking.
