The series comes back after two decades with the same thing at its centre: a good sword, a demonic gauntlet, and a great many things that need killing.

Kyoto, twisted

The old capital sits under clouds of Malice, and creatures from the underworld called Genma have come up into it. Every stage keeps something back, and the tone stays closer to dark fantasy than to history.

The Oni Gauntlet

The gauntlet gives its wearer the power to put Genma down, and it absorbs their souls to feed itself and its owner. There is also a voice coming out of it, which nobody has adequately explained.

Miyamoto Musashi

A young samurai who arrives in Kyoto to prove nobody can match him with a sword, and finds the road turning somewhere he did not choose. Capcom used the late Toshiro Mifune as the face model, which tells you the register they are aiming at.
