Lakeshore City is a two-week ladder to The Grand, and every race is a bet with your own money. Lose and you go home poorer. The heat system means the police get worse the longer you stay out.
The look
Photoreal cars with hand-drawn effects: smoke, wings and flames that burst off the car when you drift or jump. It is the most distinctive Need for Speed has looked.
Customisation
Body kits, wraps, performance tuning and the driving effects themselves. The garage is deep and the community shares designs.
Post-launch
Several volumes of free updates added new modes, cars and a proper online playlist.
