About the game
Luto is short, deliberate and genuinely unpleasant in the way good horror is. You play someone who cannot get out of their own home.
The house rearranges
Each attempt to leave puts you somewhere less familiar than the last. Corridors do not stay where you left them and the layout stops being something you can rely on.
What it is really about
Underneath the scares it is about losing someone: the space they leave, and the anxiety and depression that fill it. The horror comes out of that rather than being decorated with it.
It does not let up
The dread is constant rather than jump-scare driven, and the darkness here is not only a lighting choice.
